Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog!
I want to talk about an amazing game that I played last week. This game is >observer_ a cyberpunk horror story developed by Bloober Team, released on august 15th 2017. This game takes place in Krakow, Poland, in the year 2084. The protagonist is called Dan Lazarski (played by the actor Rutger Hauer), an observer (some kind of detective in the future), whose purpose is to hack the minds of the people in order to reconstruct the events of their life and understand how the crime happened. Also he has an embedded implant that allows him to analyze his surroundings on a forensic level.
The story begins when Lazarski is waiting in his car and suddenly he receives a misterious call from his son. The cryptic message awakens his curiosity, then he traces the call, finds out that it was from a C class district (a dangerous area in the city). He arrives to a deteriorated building where he asks about the apartment of his son. When he reaches there, no one answers the door, so he brakes into the apartment and finds out a headless corpse.
The gameplay has a first person experience with elements of an adventure game and survival horror mechanics. You can make decisions that change the events that will happen.
What did I like about this game? I like that I was able to experience what is like to be a detective. Also I think that the best part of the game was that it got me thinking about the human nature and how the technologies affects that.
However what I didn't like in the game was the different endings it has. It seems to me that the endings were unpolished in terms of the narrative of the game.
